What started a time ago in Caguas as a passion project has grown into a cherished local fixture at Plaza Retiro. From day one, Salao Tapas & Bar was built around a simple idea: bringing neighbors and visitors together over the warmth of wood-fired heat, authentic Spanish tapas, and deep criollo flavor. Over the years, our dining room has become a lively gathering spot for long talks, family celebrations, and vibrant nights out—a journey crowned when Guy Fieri pulled up to showcase our kitchen’s heart and recipes on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Nearly six years later, every house cocktail shaken, every prime cut grilled, and every dish served remains a genuine tribute to our roots, our regulars, and the Caguas community that built us.
